Berlin is changing

Berlin is unmistakeably Berlin – yet like a chameleon. Founded in the 13th century its history is eventful, with dark chapters and often radical changes. Berlin blossomed from a divided city into a pulsating, creative centre in Europe. Berlin rocks, it holds you in its grip, yes Berlin is the most exciting metropolis in Europe! So there are many reasons for visiting Berlin and once is never quite enough, so like Marlene Dietrich sang: „Ich hab noch einen Koffer in Berlin!”( I left a suitcase in Berlin!) you can return as often as you like.

Berlin has many amusement districts

Thanks to Berlin´s history the capital has many centres and amusement districts. There is an abundance of sights and events and Berlin is affordable. You can have lots of fun for very little money, no matter whether you like arts, cultural highlights, theatre and shows or parties. Meanwhile Berlin’s official PR slogan is: „The only metropolis that does not cost the world.“

By the way: The city has various gay-lesbian neighbourhoods. These historically grown centres are in Schöneberg around Motzstraße, in Kreuzberg in Oranienstraße and Mehringdamm as well as around Gleimstraße and Schönhauser Allee in Prenzlauer Berg. And the scene is expanding and growing; for years there have been gay-lesbian pubs, bars and clubs in Friedrichshain and recently more and more have appeared in Neulölln. Well that is Berlin, a city of innumerable possibilities and faces!

Welcome to Berlin!

Berlin is the perfect place for those who like to discover this exciting metropolis for themselves. Since the reunification the city underwent radical changes within the last two decades. Berlin stands for lively urbane diversity and thus has become the „place to be“ for the creative and the talented from all around the world.

It is all in the mix: renowned Berlin theatres, world famous museums and a thriving gallery scene where lovers of fine arts get their thrills, not to mention the legendary Berlin clubs and bars and last but not least Berlin’s warm hospitality, which is found in hotels, no matter the category, in the colourful variety of restaurants and certainly in the unbelievable price-performance ratio. Another part of Berlin is the gay-lesbian scene, hoisting its colourful flag in the heart of the metropolis. 2010 the event highlights in Berlin are Pride week in June with the gay-lesbian streetfair around Nollendorfplatz and naturally the Christopher Street Day Parade. The whole city participates in these events demonstrating that these symbols of tolerance and cosmopolitan spirit can be – and are – put into practice.
