Two great entertainment hotspots in Berlin are Bar jeder Vernunft and Tipi am Kanzleramt. In 2010 the private, nostalgic mirror tent of Bar jeder Vernunft features Chanson and Jazz program- mes. The larger Tipi stages stars like Georgette Dee, Gitte Haenning or Joey Arias („Arias with A Twist“ from 13th July on). Also the off- theatre scene has a new venue: O-Tonpiraten, an ensemble that does lip sinc theatre based on film classics which they alienate deliciously. Their very own theatre O-Tonart also features numerous guest stars.

It’s showtime, folks
Chamäleon theatre is an outstanding example for young modern entertainment. „Versus“ is the new production. Wintergarten reopened again and seduces its audience with poetry and acrobatics. An absolute must: Friedrichstadtpalast! The music hall enchants everyone with elegant, fast as well as enticing shows. Apart from the attractive performers ensemble, the show stages world class acrobatics.

Opera and ballett
Berlin has more of everything, also more in the classic sector. Which other metropolis has three operas?! Staatsoper, Unter den Linden shows „Die Hochzeit des Figaro“ and „La Peri“ performed by Staatsballett Berlin. A Special is „Ballett Gala gegen HIV/AIDS“ on 8th May. Because of renovations Staatsoper Unter den Linden closes 5th June and continues 3rd Oct in Schiller Theater. Deutsche Oper in the West features „Eugen Onegin“ and „Carmen“ in the programme. Komische Oper stages classics like „Hoffmanns Erzählungen“.

Comedy
German humour is no export hit, but there are a lot of good comedians in this country. Most of them came to fame in Thomas Hermanns Quatsch Comedy Club. The Live acts are performed by known Comedians like Ole Lehmann or Cindy aus Marzahn and still it provides a stage for young talents. The last mentioned also have found their stage in Kookaburra Comedy Club, many exciting newcomers from the queer community perform here. Fun guaranteed – but only if your German is fluid!
